EnergyUnited is actively monitoring Winter Storm Fern and the expected impacts to our service territory this weekend. We are preparing for the winter storm and also keeping a close eye on the extremely cold temperatures expected next week. This will be some of the coldest weather we have seen in years, and our teams are taking proactive steps to prepare. We encourage you to take precautions to stay safe and prepared, too. In preparation, cold weather emergency alerts may be issued as conditions change. Current forecasts suggest the potential for significant ice accumulation, which increases the chance of significant power outages and poses the greatest risk to the grid. Members should be prepared for extended restoration times and ensure they have emergency action plans in place. This includes having charged devices, flashlights, extra blankets and essential supplies on hand, as well as alternate relocation plans if needed. Also consider checking on vulnerable family members, neighbors and pets. Stay informed by following EnergyUnited on social media and checking our website for real-time updates.
