To be eligible for the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, the following provisions will govern the acceptance of applicants
from the local cooperatives:
1. Applicants must have completed their junior year in high school, and be enrolled for their senior year at the time
of the trip.
2. Applicants must be residents of a county served by EnergyUnited: Alexander, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba,
Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham,
Rowan, Stokes, Wilkes, and Yadkin. Applicants do not have to receive electric service from EnergyUnited.
3. Applications and essays must be completed and sent to EnergyUnited no later than Monday, February 15, 2010.
Please write a 250 to 500 word letter to an elected official on a separate piece of paper. The letter may be addressed to a local, state or national representative and should be on a topic important to you.
All qualified applicants who meet these criteria will be invited to an interview in Mocksville in late February or early March. From this group, students will be selected to participate in the youth leadership conferences in Washington, D.C. or Asheville. Applications and essays must be mailed to:
