To report a security light outage
January 09, 2024
STATESVILLE, N.C. – Power has been restored to more than 5,000 EnergyUnited members Tuesday afternoon as Winter Storm Finn moves across the Carolinas. Strong wind gusts and heavy rain have resulted in saturated ground conditions, downed trees, tree limbs with 60 separate outage events remaining across the cooperative’s 19-county service area.
While crews have made significant progress, power restoration efforts may be impeded at times, as high wind speeds ranging between 35-50 mph present safety challenges for cooperative linemen and support crews who are unable to complete aerial work under such conditions. However, crews remain in place across the cooperative’s service area and are completing damage assessments and repairs as weather conditions permit.
“Crews are working diligently to restore power to all members as safely and quickly as possible,” said Steve McCachern, vice president of energy delivery for EnergyUnited. “We expect a multi-day response will be needed to complete repairs, as strong wind gusts continue into Wednesday and additional outage events are anticipated.”
