EnergyUnited Closes Offices & Suspends Disconnects Through March

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited values the safety and well-being of our members, customers and employees. Therefore, we are announcing several changes today in response to new guidance surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Each of the following changes will go into effect on March 17, 2020 and will be reevaluated at the end of the month:

  1. To limit public traffic in and around its office locations, EnergyUnited will close all its electric and propane offices to the public through the end of March. EnergyUnited will continue its daily operations, ensuring the continuous delivery of reliable energy services for all electric and propane consumers.
  2. We understand that the coronavirus pandemic may pose a financial burden to many families in our communities, therefore we will not be disconnecting service to any of our electric members or propane customers due to non-payment through the end of March. At this time, we will reevaluate the situation and determine if this suspension should be continued.
  3. EnergyUnited will continue delivering propane to all customers and will be following the same processes and procedures regarding all tank refills. All electric sales calls and propane service and sales calls will be suspended to adhere to best practices and recommendations from public health officials regarding social distancing.

“The Coronavirus pandemic has presented an unprecedented situation that continues to evolve with each passing day,” said EnergyUnited Chief Executive Officer Wayne Wilkins. “While the scope and impact of this crisis has not yet been fully realized, we are committed to providing reliable energy to all our consumers and to ensuring the safety of our employees, consumers and communities amid this uncertainty.”

EnergyUnited will continue monitoring the situation as new information from federal, state, local and public health officials is made available. For more information and updates regarding COVID-19, follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
