ENERGYUNITED DONATES $10,000 TO HEALTHREACH COMMUNITY CLINIC
STATESVILLE, N.C. – The EnergyUnited Foundation recently donated $10,000 to HealthReach Community Clinic to support the organization’s free health care clinic. The donation will enable HealthReach Community Clinic to purchase medicine and medical supplies for low-income individuals and families who qualify to receive care from the clinic.
As the only free medical clinic in Iredell County, HealthReach Community Clinic relies primarily on volunteers to meet the needs of low-income, uninsured neighbors with free medical care and free medications. Their services include primary medical care appointments, labs, mental health services, chronic disease management, women’s health services, some specialty care (e.g., cardiology and dermatology), and fulfillment of non-narcotic medications.
“This grant from the EnergyUnited Foundation will help the clinic purchase medications and supplies that meet critical needs in our community,” said Bri Niggel, executive director for HealthReach Community Clinic. “We appreciate the support of local community partners like EnergyUnited, which enables our clinic to offer essential health services to the people of Iredell County.”
“We are excited to support the HealthReach Community Clinic and contribute to their commendable mission of providing access to health services to qualifying individuals and families in Iredell County,” said Debra Citta, program coordinator for the EnergyUnited Foundation. With this donation, we hope to address the critical healthcare needs of community members who are facing financial constraints or lack access to essential medical resources.”
The EnergyUnited Foundation is a voluntary, member-funded non-profit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. More than 90,000 EnergyUnited members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. Each of these small contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the EnergyUnited Foundation to support needy individuals, families, and essential nonprofit organizations that complete an application explaining the reason and purpose for their requested grant.
