ENERGYUNITED HOLDS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR PERENDALE SOLAR FARM

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, April 20 to mark the beginning of construction for the Perendale Solar Farm. The ceremony was held in Mocksville at the future site of the solar farm and was attended by EnergyUnited representatives, community leaders, elected officials and project partners.

The Perendale Solar Farm will be a 8.2 MW facility that will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 1,400 homes annually. The project represents part of EnergyUnited’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

“We are proud to demonstrate the cooperative’s commitment to sustainability,” said Thomas Golden, CEO of EnergyUnited. “This project would not have been possible though without the collaborative efforts of our industry and community partners. We appreciate their support and are excited to now enter the construction phase of this project.”

The Perendale Solar Farm is being developed in partnership with hep, a global leader in developing solar energy systems. Since 2008, hep has been developing, building, operating and financing solar projects with responsibility and sustainability as the foundation.

“We are excited to move forward with bringing Perendale Solar to life,” said Julian Erfurth, US CEO of hep. “Entering the next phase of this project reflects the dedication of all parties involved to provide sustainable energy with the best interests of the community and environment at the forefront.”

Construction of the Perendale Solar Farm is expected to take approximately 12 months, with the facility expected to be operational in 2024.
